9/22/08, Frankfort, NY - Yesterday afternoon I met Frank (Don Aney痴 nephew) on the dairy farm. Frank (shown in the red shirt in the picture to the right) thought it would be nice if I could visit the other kids at the Boces school in Herkimer, NY. Arrangements were made and I drove the team the ten miles to the school in the morning. The kids had a great time, learned a little bit about horses and had an opportunity to pet the horses.
After lunch, I drove through the town of Herkimer and started down the road to Utica. Shortly after leaving the school, I stopped and gave a short interview with the local NBC affiliate - WKTV from Utica. I updated the Media coverage section with their story.
I知 currently camped in Joe and Sharon痴 front yard in Frankfort, NY (about 6 miles from Utica.)
A lot of people stopped by to talk and see the horses. The horses had a long day today. With the detour to the school, they put in about 19 miles today.
Joe and Sharon are really great hosts and I知 glad I was invited to spend some time with them. When I pull out of here tomorrow, I知 definitely going to miss them.
Tomorrow, I plan on passing through the city of Utica. Leaving Utica, I値l be traveling down route 12B on my way to pick up route 20 west bound. We値l be in city traffic most of the day. One bright note, my good friend John Shostek from Palatine Bridge is going to hook up with for lunch tomorrow.
I知 glad I had the opportunity to stop and visit with the kids and staff at the Boces school. It was probably the most interesting lunch time the horses and I have had. I would like to thank the kids that helped me water and grain the horses.
Good Night everyone!
