Marking Time In NE

WAGONTEAMSTER .COM

4/29/11, Missouri Valley, IA - In about three weeks, I’ll be finished up here in Nebraska and headed back to Colorado.  My time here has been great, but I definitely need a “horse fix”. With that in mind, the lads and I are headed into the hills for a week or two of high adventure.

The nice thing about having a 2200 pound horse for a packhorse, I don’t have to skimp on supplies or eat freeze-dried food.  While you can expect some high adventure and beautiful pictures, don’t expect to see any Jeremiah Johnson type pictures of a guy riding through the mountains clad in smelly old skins and chewing on a piece of beaver tail. Look for shots of the ‘Ol Teamster casting his fly rod in a beaver pond while sipping a cold one, while the lads chow down on some sweet spring grass.

I’ve heard from Chuck Reagan.  He and Mary are having a great time driving their mules across West Texas. John McComsey and his girlfriend Marilyn are also doing well as they drive their team across Arkansas. After they reach Texarkana, they plan on heading back east for Charleston, SC.
